I am crazy. I got stuck at the Chicago airport Friday thanks to delays caused by a sabotage incident last week, on the very day Fleetwood Mac was doing its second Chicago show just a few miles away. I couldn't stand it. Since I only had a carry-on, I decided - with a push from PFD - to change my flight, catch a cab to the show, buy a ticket last minute, and then come back and sleep at the airport. Fun fact I learned: Security lines at Midway don't open until 3:45 am.... But there's lots of places to sleep in ticketing and baggage claim!
I got a seat in the first level riser by the stage - it was probably an unused comp. Great view of Lindsey especially - hot stuff! It was his birthday, but the band didn't acknowledge it. Perhaps he asked them not to. It wasn't as good as opening night overall, but a few of the songs were tighter.
I had a fantastic time, but managed to set back my progress health-wise! I'm trying to rest at home now; I'm coughing and feverish again. I'm rethinking my trip to New York next week - can I really handle waiting outside in the wind and cold for hours before dawn in order to see the Mac perform for the Today show? Still deciding.
Speaking of health... Sorry you're dealing with so much, Austin! Best wishes and prayers for you!
