Now PM, I'm not that kind of girl! It's just I usually have friends with me at such things and I find it unendurable to sit quietly with no one to talk to. It's easy to pick out who is receptive to a conversation partner and who wants to be left alone - and this guy was definitely of the former bent! He provided me with quite a bit of entertainment.
Indeed! And if I ever see him again, I will definitely have to ask about those patches.
A recent interview: "Jack Tempchin: It's About the Song"
This quote about "Peaceful Easy Feeling" struck me. Jack states:"I thought the line, 'I'm already standing on the ground,' made it not actually a love song. It's like you can't count on a woman or anything really to find peace within yourself."I never really thought of PEF as a love song - I always thought it was about a one-night stand - but I didn't realize it was also about self-sufficiency. Interesting.
I'm sure there are plenty of Borderer's who get the Jack Tempchin link on Facebook. My sister and I were absolute over the moon to get one a little while ago featuring Miami Vice clips and a few stills set to "Somebody". Nothing NEW but a great match up of music and clips/pix!

Victim of Love
Jack Tempchin posted this on Facebook yesterday: the original lyric sheet to Peaceful Easy Feeling. Very cool!
you better put it all behind you, baby, 'cause life goes on
you keep carrying that anger, it'll eat you up inside--
Very cool, Troub! Thanks for sharing that with us!

http://www.americansongwriter.com/20...-one-you-love/Jack Tempchin is a songwriter’s songwriter, having written or co-written hits for the Eagles (“Peaceful Easy Feeling”), Glenn Frey (remember “You Belong To The City?”), and many others. Here he performs the oldie but goodie “The One You Love.”
"For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14-year vacation!"
(Glenn Frey)
An interview with Jack, and he talks about so many things we have threads for, I just decided it would do best in his own thread!
