    This is what they look like cooked. They're little black lentils that taste WAY better than they look! They're great alone, or they'd be really nice in a vegetarian shepherd's pie or lasagne. They're so healthy and filling.

    Yum! I've had lentils, but never heard of puy lentils. The nice thing about lentils is that they are small and cook much quicker than beans, and as you said, are very filling!

    I totally agree, PM. Try them and let me know what you think - they really are much more naturally tasty than most other lentils.

    I hadn't thought about it, but as they come from France, I don't know if they are stocked in mainstream shops in the US... You would be able to order them, though. Here's a blog post about puy lentils with a couple of recipes.

    daughter made chicken quesadillas tonight. They were very good. Her boyfriend came for dinner. Bonus: She cleaned up after herself!
