I love it when all the pieces full into place. I was reading about Paul Ahern who shared the "Kirkwood Casino and Health Club" with Glenn and when I looked him up I realised I'd seen him in a few pictures.

where did you read about that by the way?
I had never heard that reference before
so I googled it and found this:
Laurel Canyon was home to Glenn Frey of The Eagles, who lived in a little hacienda on the corner of Kirkwood and Ridpath Drive. It was jokingly referred to as 'The Kirkwood Casino and Health Club' by its guests. The dwelling was the notorious site of many a marathon poker game and all-night drug and alcohol binge.

I was looking on google maps streetview to see if I could figure out which house it might be...but without the exact address i'm not sure
but it would also be a fun thing to add to the Eagles roadtrip itinerary.

haha..that might not be Glenn's house in that photo...but if it is..hey he had crazy parties there..if it might get trashed, do you think he cared what the couch looked like?

Good point, T&H. Plus, the puke stains wouldn't show up on that fabric.

The house is described in Marc Eliot's To the Limit including the layout. So I seached for Paul Ahern and found his name attached to a couple of photos with Glenn. Somewhere else (I've forgotten where), the third man on the couch is identified as David Blue.

I remember when we first saw the photo that I did some research to confirm that it was David Blue. I think it was done mainly thriugh pictures. He wrote Outlaw Man.

I think I saw his name tagged under the picture somewhere, too. I also read that Glenn played and sang backup on one of David Blue's albums, probably around the time of that photo.
