Well, it appears that I will have to wait a little longer to see Bob Seger, he has postponed his tour. I pray everything is ok with him and he is able to get back on track soon!

I saw Emmylou Harris Sunday afternoon in Columbia, Mo at the Roots N Blues N Barbecue Festival. She was fantastic! The sound could have been better, but just so glad to see a true pioneer, after all, she played with Gram Parsons back in the day. She's still beautiful at 70!
That’s too bad. After learning about Tom Petty’s death, my husband said out of the blue, “let’s go see Bob Seger”. We were still deciding on which tickets to get when I saw his tour was being postponed. Maybe it has to do with security issues.
I wonder why she didn’t sing Two More Bottles of Wine. That’s a bummer but it sounds like it was still a great show.
Delilah, Bob's tour has been postponed because he hurt his back. Some friends were going to go to the concert here but it's been postponed too.
Oh I did not know that about Bob. I appreciate the info. I hope he feels well soon.
We were in Vegas the last few days and my wife surprised me with tickets to see John Fogerty perform at the Wynn. Heck of a show! I saw him perform 12 years ago or so and he still sounds great. He also did a nice tribute to Tom Petty:

Thanks for sharing, DiscoStrangler! I really liked this cover.

Very excited that I was lucky enough to get Springsteen On Broadway tickets for January. Certainly not something that happens everyday. Otherwise, not much else besides seeing Jim Jefferies for the 20th time the end of the month. If I keep it up, I will have seen him as many or more times than Bon Jovi (25) !! Lol !!
WW - Congrats - those tickets are sooo hard to get ! My sister registered and has still not heard whether she will be chosen. Happy for you but:jealous:
I have tried numerous times to get tickets to see Bruce to no avail.
I will not only be seeing Led Zeppelin Masters in January, but Mr Plant himself in March, and also Jason Bonham's LZ Experience the night after The Musical Box, on Australia Day weekend. :guitar:
We'll be seeing Billy Joel this Friday in Indianapolis at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Then on Sunday we'll be seeing Rick Springfield do a acoustical set in Carmel with tickets that I won on the radio last week! Looking forward to a good concert weekend!
Got to see Poco Saturday night at a very small venue in mid Missouri! Rusty Young is the only member who is still with them after nearly 50 years. They've had lots of changes, but they sounded great. There were probably 400 people there and they signed autographs afterwards and let you take pictures. Rusty mentioned Randy Meisner and Timothy as former members. Said they left them for bigger things-Eagles, which got a laugh from the crowd. They did Rose of Cimarron (my favorite Poco song) and it didn't sound quite as good without Timothy, but it was good none the less. They played for about 2 hours with an intermission. Got to hear Call It Love and Crazy Love too. More favorites! It was a really fun evening!
The venue was a very small, old Lodge in the Ozark hills. We had been there and stayed before when we saw America there, but opted for a more updated hotel in a nearby town this time. It was about a three hour drive for us, but Rusty said it only took him about 20 minutes as loves these Missouri hills and he owns a cabin in the area! He also said they would be back there this time next year with a 50th anniversary show and would have some special guests (former members) along with them! Hmmm, might have to check that out next year!
WOW Brooke - I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU !!! Billy Joel is my favorite all time singer(NOTE: group is different). I saw him three times before but not in many years. You will love him - he puts on such a great show. I still want to see him at the Garden so bad ! I am saving for next year some time. HAVE A GREAT TIME YOU WILL LOVE IT ! I am so:jealous: BUT SO HAPPY FOR YOU !!!
So cool that you got to see Poco - I wish I could have seen them in their prime.
Man !! You guys have been going to some kick ass shows !! Poco, Billy Joel, Rick Springfield ? Hell yeah !!
I'm going to see HIM on the 15th. They're a Finnish goth band, and they are awesome !! I know metal isn't the cup of tea most of you drink, but I'm super excited about it !!
Meant to post earlier but forgot to... Billy Joel was fantastic! It was a sold out show, and he just legendary, of course! He played 20 songs on the first set, closing with "Piano Man", then encored with several of his most popular songs: Uptown Girl, It's Still Rock n Roll To Me, Big Shot, We Didn't Start The Fire, Only The Good Die Young, and closing with You May Be Right.
We saw Rick Springfield "Stripped" in a much smaller venue 2 nights later. He's a great storyteller and a pretty funny guy. He knows he's an 80's cliché and just embraces it. His mashup for Jessie's Girl, Stacy's Mom, and 867-5309 is absolutely hilarious!
I love Poco and hope I get a chance to see them next year. Sounds like a fantastic venue and very nice show, glad you could go! I also love ROC, it's a beautiful song and Timothy would be hard to top but it sounds like they did a good job. Curious if they did Magnolia by JJ Cale? I adore that song and the way they recorded it back in the 70's was so beautiful.
There's a lot of great concerts that have been announced already for next year close to me and my family is for sure wanting to see Brad Paisley as he'll be at OSU in April and Lindsay Ell is one of the openers (I've seen both already but not the other 2 openers). Then Maroon 5 is coming in September and wouldn't mind going but we'll see, same with the Foo Fighters next summer who are playing closer to Cleveland but we're hoping for a closer venue like here or Cincinnati. I actually wouldn't mind going to see Taylor Swift either, as she'll be playing at OSU's football stadium next summer, but it'll probably be too expansive. Plus, I feel there will be more artists announced soon and to choose from.
Paisley is easily one of my favorite performers to see live! Just a ton of energy and is a hell of a guitar player!
Going with my Mom to a Christmas concert on the 19th with Chloe Agnew, who used to be in the group Celtic Woman. We saw Celtic Woman years ago when Chloe was still with them and she's now a solo artist.
I’m trying to decide whether I want to try to navigate a Taylor Swift stadium concert. I’d gone to her 1989 show and really enjoyed it. I have to use a cane and the thought of doubling/tripling the crowd size is a bit daunting.
In Aug 2016 I got to meet Josh Groban and Sarah McLachlan when they came to Starlight theater, and Josh is hoping to have his new music released in early 2018 for a fall tour so I have my fingers crossed. Also got to meet Richard Marx in Vegas this summer and would love to see him again whenever he comes to KC. Also got to meet the legendary Judy Collins and Stephen Stills when they played JCCC in Overland Park, KS this summer.
Would love to see Lady Antebellum whenever they come to town again.
You would be welcome company :) I just do the m&g tickets when I can. Sitting with Taylors Mom was totally accidental and completely unexpected. She was being treated for cancer at the time and I’m a cancer survivor so we hugged about five times. She’s very dear.
Musician friends in Miami got married and most of the Miami Sound Machine played at the wedding. Weeks later I was in town and they took me to meet the rest of the MSM at a club gig ... Gloria and Emilio Estefan. This was before they did their first album. Super, super nice. Their son was only a few months old at the time so I got to see lots of adorable family pictures.
It’s so fun to meet the people you admire, and to say thank you for sharing their incredible gifts with the world. A million years ago I was a cocktail waitress as a second job and I met way too many famous jerks you couldn’t pay me enough to go see. My all time favorite was the Average White Band who were so much fun, extremely polite and respectful and not only tipped well, I got hugs and a kiss on the cheek by each when they left.
Would love to see TBS come to the KC area for a solo show! Fingers crossed.
Wow LT, you have met some incredible people ! Lucky you !
That TS concert sounds like it could be crazy with a bunch of screaming teenagers. I am impressed with the number of people you have seen iin concert.
When I met Josh Groban, he looks at you with those brown eyes and i was done in. I was talking so fast I just ran all my words together and he just was so sweet. I was like OMG, HE HAS HIS HAND ON MY SHOULDER!!! Two of us got autographs. Sara is such a joyous, gentle soul and she held my hands while We talked. She showed me how to do selfies because I had just gotten a new phone and was terrible at it. I thought I would be overwhelmed by Richard Marx because he’s very vocal about issues, but in person he’s a sweet man. I’d brought him a pair of socks with martini glasses on them (he and Daisy love Martinis) and he was truly tickled someon3 would do that. He said “are you serious? You bought these socks especially for me and brought them all the way to Vegas? You are so kind, and I really will wear them!” I asked if I could please have a little hug because I’d been waiting since the 80’s to hear him in person, and he replied “for being so thoughtful, you can have a big hug!” And he did! I was so excited, the picture of us has me with the silliest face.
Stephen Stills is a riot! He’s very happy-go-lucky, very talkative, and so interested in meeting his fans. My bff went with me, and she brought her Woodstock ticket for him to sign. He was so jazzed that she still had it, and then he and Judy started talking about Woodstock. Judy said she was going to be there but at the last moment they couldn’t get a helicopter to get her to the venue because the traffic was jammed for days. That was interesting. I had this tropical print dress on, and Stephen asked where he could find a shirt like that. Then he and Judy counted the different designs on the fabric. I have a picture her assistant took that has them appearing to look at my chest. He’s really comical. Judy is incredible. She’s in her 70’s, her voice is so perfect, and she is such an elegant, classy lady. She wore stiletto heeled knee high boots, black leggings, and a black beaded silk jacket. And she stood in those heels the entire time. I remember telling her how much her music meant to my family, that meeting her was one of the proudest days of my life. She’s truly a music legend, and she has such great stories to tell.
If I can figure out how to post pictures I can share them, but I do hate to show my ugly mug on the internet. I wish my family was still alive so I could have taken them with me, but my dear Mom was all I had left and she’s been gone almost 8 months. Even my jerk ex-husband has died. Just me and the dog
My Dad was in management for a couple of upscale hotels for decades and he met everyone from Presidents and Vice-Presidents to just about every singer/musical group you can imagine. He was impressed thatDolly Parton came through once and asked if she could go through the hotel to meet all the staff and do autographs, and she did exactly that for several hours. Most of the famous people he met were great, but I saw first hand how some misbehave badly in public and never tip a dime on racked up tabs in the thousands. I had a few I waited on that thought they should get all their food and booze for free because they were famous. It was a long time ago and maybe they acted better later on.
I’m in awe of all the people here who have gotten to see the Eagles and their favorite groups so many times over the years. I haven’t been to all that many concerts considering I’m really old, lol. I have a T-shirt that says “I may be old but I got to see all the good bands” :partytime:
TimB, my condolences on the loss of your mom.
You sound like you got it going on, personality-wise. That's why those folks responded so well to you. [super jealous that Sarah M. took your hand]
You will enjoy Lady Antebellum, they put on a good show. They're very talented songwriters, IMO. They should call one of their albums "Contains Actual Melodies" unlike most crap these days.
Moody Blues 2018
Thank you for your kindness about my Mom. I miss her so much and it’s been hard without her, especially with the holidays.
Oh, but I don’t have an interesting personality at all. I’m really a wallflower and have a hard time being around large groups of people. But it’s so important for me to say thank you to the people whose music has been so much a part of my life, I just push myself to go. Life is short and I’m grateful to see a few dreams come true. I think that the people I’ve met in meet and greet shows are kind to us old folks and are at points in their careers that they have a bit of extra time to meet fans.
So many people here have really fantastic stories about concerts they have been to, and I love that they share their memories.
Headin’ to Las Vegas this weekend for George Strait .. possibly Lionel Richie too
plus whatever else happens
