Re: Upcoming Non-Eagles shows you plan on attending
I posted a few weeks ago that I was seeing Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders and that was yesterday. They were very good - a kind of bluesy rock played by a very tight 4-piece - guitar, bass, drums and sax/clarinet. When you consider how many years they've put in as sidemen and session players, it's not surprising the musicianship was so good. Nice rapport with the audience and within the band - it felt like a very stripped-down, "authentic" experience. If you're in the UK and they're coming near you, try to catch them. There's a recorded live performance from currently available at www.vintage.tv (possibly uk only).
Quite a few Eagles connections based on this writeup
- AFL has played with a long list of big names including Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Brown.
- Glyn Johns was the producer of his second and third solo albums and this new band's first album.
- Bernie Leadon played guitar on his second solo album in 1975.

Glad you enjoyed them, UTW!

I'll just add that Andyweather Low and the Low-Riders can be seen at Madison Square Garden on May 1st and 2nd - they're opening for Eric Clapton. My mind is slightly blown at the idea of going from a small hall in my home town (capacity 300) to MSG in the space of 6 weeks.

After a spur of the moment decision at the weekend, we bought tickets to see Van the Man on November 20 in Dublin.
I started listening to his music again and had forgotten how many of his songs I love - I tend to forget about Van a bit but that will soon change

I would be interested to know which ones. I am a massive fan. The only time I saw him was back in the mid 80s & he hasn't been back here since.

His concerts are supposed to be brilliant. A friend saw him a few years ago and was on a high for months afterwards
