Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate your warm regards. Hope you guys know I think of you all often.
Got my final project, a PowerPoint presentation-type deal for the class on Woody Plants, finished mere hours before it is due--I'm a master procrastinator from way back, and it's not one of the personal traits I'm most proud of having. I feel so exhausted.
It's been cool and breezy down around my way, which is the exact sort of Spring day I love. Going to do a trip to one of the nearby cities tomorrow, and am looking forward to bringing out my favourite denim jacket and some Beatles CD's I've not ever played in my car. Looking forward to a few weeks of travelling about and doing my video-making thing.
'Taking it easy' for the time being. Nice to rest my mind after these fairly and varyingly stressful past 2 months.
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Congrats on completing your presentation WS82. Good luck on your next venture. Nice to hear that you stepped up to the mic even if it didn't ultimately work out. You won't be wondering "what if" later on. And you already have some ideas of what you want to do next.
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
I have my final exam today for my astronomy class and then I'll be on break till late August. :D It has been tough this semester but I do love science, so taking off this summer will be better. Plus, I'm still job searching since I got laid off earlier this year and hopefully the more availability will help. And it's Mother's Day tomorrow so getting all those plans for my Mom and my Grandmas in order.
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Was just getting ready to leave for physical therapy but got a call that they needed to reschedule me. Lucky they didn't wait 15 more minutes or I would have been gone. Have to go tomorrow at 11 but I think they will have to reschedule Thursday's appointment too. Can't do PT 2 straight days.
I still have a few errands to run then I am meeting with my son to a sports bar to watch the last West Ham game at Upton Park. I believe it is against Manchester United which is a team I really dislike.
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Just finished my 2nd album... Just awaiting the proof and make sure it's ok (artwork, etc).. I play all the instruments, I don't use a computer - I have a built-in CD burner... I use one microphone for my drums, guitars, piano, etc...
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Congrats MSF! How many instruments do you play?
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Wow and Congrats MSF!!! :D
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
Congrats MSF, and best of luck with the job search, Buffy.
I've just started a clear liquid diet for the tests my GI doctor is doing on Friday. The sandwich that I ate a few hours ago will be the last solid food I can have until sometime late Friday afternoon. I'll start the actual prep tonight(Thursday.) Needless to say. I'm ready for that time on Friday afternoon to get here.
My grandfather is having good and bad spells. Yesterday, he managed to pack a suitcase and try to go out the door without any kind of walking aid. He was going to visit his brother who's been dead for I don't know how many years. He dreams of past events while sleeping, and when he wakes up, he tries to act them out as if they're happening now. My grandmother has ordered a hospital bed, which should be here sometime today. The rails on the bed will keep him in the bed when we need him to be, like at night. The wheels have been set in motion to get some type of home healthcare for my grandfather. He won't be going into a nursing home for now.
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
AG, bless him. It makes me so sad to hear these kinds of things with the elderly.
My mom isn't nearly as bad, but she has lots of short term memory issues. My sister takes care of all her bills and I had her out Saturday and she kept looking for her check book and a credit card, which she can't be trusted with anymore.
Re: What's Happening In Your Life?
I hear ya, Brooke. I wish you the best with your mom. I feel for my grandfather and others in his situation. It's very hard to do what's best for them when you have to treat them as a child. They aren't able to or refuse to realize that you're trying to do what's best for them. I also realize that I may be in his shoes 60 or 70 years down the road, if I live that long .
The hospital bed was delivered today, and my grandfather is now in it. He knows why it's there, to " keep him a prisoner", as he puts it. He asked my uncle, " How would like to be a prisoner in your own home, almost completely confined to your bed?". He wants so badly to go outside and get bsome fresh air. It's the risk of falling and wondering off that keeps my grandmother from letting him do that.
A lady from hospice care came as well. She set up an appointment with his doctor for an evaluation to see if He's eligible for hospice care. I doubt he is because he doesn't have any terminal illnesses, just health problems.
