Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Everyonce in a while when it's slow at work and I'm at a dead table, I get the chance to look around and just people watch. I noticed this kid (looked barely old enough to be allowed in a casino) wearing a t-shirt that I could've swore said Hotel California when I first glanced at it. But the closer he walked towards me I could see that it actually said Hotel Alcatraz. How I got Alcatraz and California mixed up, I don't know. It was close enough for me to get somewhat of an Eagles fix while I was at work.
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Hmmm, if that kid's shirt said Alcatraz on it you might have more problems than him just being underaged! :hilarious:
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Most of you here know that I live in a very small town, New Carlisle, Indiana. It is very proud of it's "historical" landmarks and the history of the town. They have commissioned an artist friend of ours to paint a couple mural's on either end of the small downtown area on the historical buildings. The one Sue is currently working on is right around the corner from me and I saw it over the weekend and she was painting a beautiful old building and the surroundings. I had to run to the store last night and as I rounded the corner she was adding the words above it "Hotel Ca...". On my way back home, I had to stop and find out what it was going to say. She informed me it is "Hotel Carlisle".
Oh well, I was having fun with it for a few minutes at least.
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Willie, it seems like nearly everytime I see something with the word "Hotel" written on it, my mind automatically thinks of Hotel California. I can't help it.
Yesterday I made a quick trip to Dallas with my cousin. On our way there and back we drove through Denton, TX and we passed by the the Univ. of North Texas and I couldn't help but reminisce about that absolutely wonderful and amazing day that I got to meet Don when he did the lecture about the Caddo Lake Institute. **SIGH**
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Well, PB, why in the world would you want to remember THAT???
At my niece's graduation party Friday night, somebody asked if we were going to pull an allnighter. Do I need to tell any of you about the incredible places my mind wandered?

OMG! I've just seen my first TV advert for Don's new 'best of' CD!!!! There's glimpses of him walking on a beach (at least I presume it's him - my mind was whirling!) in black trousers and a white shirt, and then a very nice picture of the front cover. Swoon! My heart's racing! (Sad, isn't it?) :hilarious:
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I got an Amazon alert for that as well Lou! Worth buying I'd say!
Willie! I only need to see 'Hotel.....' and thats enough to get me going!!D
As some of you know we have been having a bit of a goldfish saga here at the moment. To cut a long story short I have had to buy goldfish for the children on several occasions this week. Everytime I buy them the guy writes 'GF €3.50' on the bag. Just seeing the GF sends my mind incredible places.......

:jealous: I haven't seen any kind of ads for the new cd :-(
Now this is just pathetic...I saw a guy at work that had his right hand all bandaged up and I couldn't help but think about Timothy when he got bit by that dog a month or so ago. Even when I'm at work and should be focused on my job I've got Eagles on the brain.
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
When I have seen the tour documentary of the last genesis tour this morning
I had to think immediately of Don Henleys song Come rain or come shine,
because the name of documentary is Come rain or shine.

My cell phone ringtones & display screens, my computer screensavers and my morning coffee (a dear friend had a special coffee mug made for me with one of my favorite pictures of my all-time favorite band).
