Re: Today in Eagles History
We talked about this earlier, and I was sure Thriller would surpass the Eagles: Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 with Jackson's death, but I was wrong. As of now, they're currently tied. According to the RIAA, which published its updated numbers about a week ago:

Re: Today in Eagles History
Cool! I figured MJ would surpass the Eagles, too, with his death! Just goes to show timeless music stands the test of time! :applause:
Re: Today in Eagles History
Aw man...now it looks like I have to go out and buy 10,000 copies of Eagles Greatest Hits 71-75. Just to be sure we stay on top, you see.
Re: Today in Eagles History
I know I'm a bit late in posting this, but I noticed that today was a pretty important day in Eagles history - the 12th anniversary of their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, I can't think of too many other bands that are more deserving of this honor than our own Eagles!!!
:yay: :yay: :yay:
Re: Today in Eagles History
Well said, Dreamer. Our guys are very deserving of the RRHOF. I wonder if any of the guys will recieve this honor as a solo artist. That would be awesome.
Re: Today in Eagles History
Anticipating the rest of you, I see that I Dreamed There Was No War won its Grammy a year ago. Congratulations to it.
Re: Today in Eagles History
I will also join in congratulating 'I Dreamed There Was No War' on the 1 year anniversary of it's Grammy.
Re: Today in Eagles History
I can't believe that it's been a whole year. Time is flying too fast!
Re: Today in Eagles History
It is!! I was thinking earlier today that because the Eagles released LROOE towards the END of 2007 and its now early 2010, people would think its already 3 years ond. Yet it still feels like their 'new' album to me.
Re: Today in Eagles History
And today in Eagles history was special as well. It was 3 years ago that Don was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year. Wow - I can't believe this was 3 years ago either.
