Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Jack Tempchin talks about songwriting and Glenn in this new interview with Songwriter Universe. Especially interesting is what's included in his latest album, Peaceful Easy Feeling: The Songs of Jack Tempchin.

I also did a song called “Privacy” which Glenn and I wrote, but no one’s heard before. We’re making a video of this song.

Great interview. Thanks for posting!

Cool. I didn't know that Glenn turned Already Gone into a rock song. A similar thing happened with Status Quo's Caroline, which was originally written as a countryish song.

Here is co-writer Robb Strandlund's original take on "Already Gone." It's kind of swampy country and actually came out two year after the Eagles version. I'm guessing had Jack Tempchin recorded it back then, it would've been similar to this.

Harry Styles had a secret friendship with Glenn Frey
APRIL 27, 2017
Harry Styles formed a secret friendship with Eagles star Glenn Frey before his death in 2016. The 23-year-old star grew close to the American singer before he passed away aged 67 in January last year, and Harry even attended his memorial service in Los Angeles alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder and Don Henley. Cameron Crowe, who interviewed Harry for Rolling Stone magazine, told The Sun newspaper: “The first time I met him was for the memorial. He was really missing his friend.” The extent of Harry’s friendship with the star was never previously known, but he did pay tribute to the Eagles singer a day after his death. In a post on Instagram, Harry wrote: “Rest in love and peace, Mr Frey.”

In this 2015 interview, Glenn says "Harry's a friend of mine" so it seems that the friendship was mutual.

Thanks UTW - Unfortunately GL's link isn't working for me anymore, but I remember reading it when it was first posted. I love the way Glenn took the time to mentor young musicians.

How weird. I just bought Harry's album, because I had heard how great it was and because I'd seen him do an excellent version of Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. I highly recommend it. Bless you, Harry.
In the interests of balance I should mention that Harry's former bandmate Niall Horan considers Don Henley to be his mentor.
