Re: It's Been A Long Time, Been A Long Time....
I was never a Zep fan until the past couple of years. Seriously, whenever they came on the radio, I would turn the station. But now I like them. Wierd, I know. I even have a video of their early years which is great. So, now I would love to see them in concert. But not without Robert Plant.
As for Steven Tyler, he could probably do it, but I doubt he would. Aerosmith has announced they will be touring next year. :yay: I want to see them again.

I'm hoping everyone will have enough respect to say "thanks, but no thanks" out of respect for this band!!
Re: It's Been A Long Time, Been A Long Time....
My husband thinks the talk of trying new singers is just a ploy to tease Plant into doing it. All Page would have to do is float the name 'David Coverdale' and Plant would come on board.

FP- I sure hope your husband is right! I am very passionate about this topic because Zep is one of those groups I have worshiped since childhood!
Re: It's Been A Long Time, Been A Long Time....
I hope so too. Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant isn't Led Zeppelin.
They were one of the first bands I fell in love with. (Long before I discovered the joys of Mr Henley & the Eagles!) I can't imagine anybody else singing their songs.

It's funny. Some people may think of Led Zeppelin as heavy metal, but I don't.

OK-Am I the only one that finds this extremely sad that someone doesn't know that Jimmy Page was with Zeppelin and even sadder that they think that Zeppelin is a heavy metal band!?! GEEZ!! I know not everyone takes music as seriously as me but isn't that just one of those things everyone should know? :brickwall:
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Well, I have to admit I didn't know who the members of Led Zeppelin were - nor could I name any of their songs - until 2004, when one of my friends got into them hard-core. Even now I am hard-pressed to name more than two of their songs... I know they did "Rock and Roll" and "Stairway to Heaven"....
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I never was a Zeppelin fan - don't know too much about them.
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I know that Robert Plant and Jimmie Page were 2 band members, but I really don't care for their music. If not heavy metal, how would Led Zeppelin's music be categorized?
