Re: Greatest Hits Volume 2 ranked
1. Seven Bridges Road
2. New Kid in Town
3. Heartache Tonight
4. I Can't Tell You Why
5. After the Thrill Is Gone
6. Life in the Fast Lane
7. The Long Run
8. Hotel California
9. Sad Café
10. Victim of Love
Because I've loved SBR since the first time I heard it. It never fails to give me goosebumps. NKIT and HT are tied. I love Sugar's voice on NKIT and HT is such a good rocker -- especially live. ICTYW is a wonderful song. I love Tim's voice and he is note-perfect here. Just a great song. ATTIG gets a higher bump because of the lyrics and Glenn's vocals. If you've ever been in a situation where "Half the distance takes you twice as long. So you keep on dancing for the sake of the song..." this will resonate. I like "Fast Lane," especially since I know how it got its name. TLR is a solid, jazzy tune with good vocals from DH.
HC: yeah, the "great one" and so, so overplayed. It's a complete experience, and I'll always like it, but there are so many that are better -- to me.
Sad Cafe is good, but it takes a while to get where it's going.
VOL has such an ugly history that it kind of taints the whole song for me, but I also think "Those Shoes" covers the same essential territory, and in a much more interesting way.
So that's my take. :grooving:
Re: Greatest Hits Volume 2 ranked
1. The Long Run
2. After The Thrill Is Gone
3. Victim Of Love
4. Sad Cafe
5. Hotel California
6. Seven Bridges Road
7. Heartache Tonight
8. Life In The Fast Lane
9. New Kid In Town
10. I Can't Tell You Why
Tough choices. Would have never thought New Kid In Town would end up ninth.
Re: Greatest Hits Volume 2 ranked
- I Can't Tell You Why
- Seven Bridges Road
- After The Thrill Is Gone
- New Kid In Town
- Heartache Tonight
- Sad Cafe
- Life In The Fast Lane
- The Long Run
- Victim Of Love
- Hotel California
An interesting exercise. The easiest part was choosing the bottom four although Life in the Fast Lane would come higher for a live performance.

Wow - No one has ranked HC number one. Also surprising that VOL is ranked last or close to last by most people. Very Interesting......

Re: Greatest Hits Volume 2 ranked
UTW - Thanks - I was going to make a list for the overall ranking of the songs but you are one step ahead of me.
NOTE : I don't know where to put this but Eagles Fastlane just posted a interview with Joe where he conforms they will do 40 -50 shows next year.

Thanks NKIT, Of course this comes as no surprise. I started a 2018 thread. Looks like Azoff is teaming Eagles with Jimmy Buffet for some shows in addition to the 40-50 concerts Joe Walsh confirmed.
Re: Greatest Hits Volume 2 ranked
Thanks Dawn - You came through again. Thanks for starting the post for me.
Interesting Irving is adding old pal Jimmy Buffet. I'm not surprised either and am sure they will all sell out.
