Re: Gary Burden died
Here’s the statement off the Eagles homepage:
“We join with many others in mourning the passing of our friend and collaborator, Gary Burden. Gary designed the covers of our first four albums. He was a unique and talented man, a big-hearted adventurous spirit, a Marine, a fluent Spanish speaker, a masterly raconteur, and a true artist. He made an exceptional and lasting contribution to the art of the vinyl LP album cover and he will be missed. RIP, old friend.”

Re: Gary Burden died
A good age and it seems like a life lived well. Thanks, Gary.

Re: RIP Gary Burden
I went ahead and merged the two threads that were created about Gary Burden's passing.
My thoughts go out to Gary's family at this sad time. He was an exceptionally gifted artist and will always be immortalized in the hearts of Eagles fans for his extraordinary artwork on the band's first four albums. I loved the 'Under the Covers' DVD that he and Henry Diltz did, and enjoyed Gary's contributions to the HOTE documentary as well ... especially the part where he says that "Don Henley was from Texas - he was a cowboy, Glenn was from Detroit - he wanted to be a cowboy."
R.I.P. Gary
