I like "Rhinestone Cowboy," too.
Other favourites: Southern Nights, All I Have To Do Is Dream with Bobbie Gentry, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, Gentle On My Mind, True Grit. Great voice, great guitarist, great talent.
Sad news.
Indeed :worried: Did anyone buy his latest album? I did and its great. Read he will do a farewell tour. Don't know when, one website says this fall, another next spring. Hope he will be still able to do it then. I'm sure a lot of people will be crying during the shows.
Glen is scheduled to play at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton, N.B., the same theatre where I saw Jackson Browne. Moncton is about a 1 3/4 hr drive from here. My husband wanted to go until he saw Glen recently in an interview on one of the entertainment news shows (I forget which one). His wife had to answer most of the questions. She did say that although his short term memory was bad he still remembered how to sing & play his old songs. I found it very hard to watch the interview. :-( I have always enjoyed his music.

This is unbelievably depressing in so many ways. My thoughts, prayers, and special considerations go out to his family, friends, and fans.
He has had alzheimer's for a long time, it is now in it's final stages.
It is very sad. I just watched a PBS special on him. He had great music. I remember as a kid we always played Glen Campbell in our house. We always watched his Good Times Show on TV. Very sad....
Glen Campbell's longtime collaborator Jimmy Webb, the writer of such hits as "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Galveston," and "Wichita Lineman," will be performing a series of concerts celebrating the life and music of Mr. Campbell. Accompanying Webb will be three of Campbell's children.

Anyone planning on seeing these concerts should they be scheduled nearby?
