That book looks interesting. Did the author talk to Randy by any chance, or did she have much to say about him?
Yes she did, but there wasn’t anything really new from him. However I only read excerpts. There are a couple of interesting details like how Rick and the Stone Canyon were really hot at the beginning and sold out the Troubadour for a week. There are also revelations about why Allen Kemp and Pat Shanahan quit.

Ooh, that's going on my Amazon wish list. Thanks, D.!
Pardon my geeking, but there's something so cool about having a song that originated from Randy and Stephen Love's band Goldrush.
I hadn’t thought about it that way, but you’re right. Even though Randy doesn’t have a writing credit, they may have performed it together. It’s been awhile since I’ve listened to that song. I remember being impressed.
(I plan to get the book too, eventually)
I think I already mentioned that I read the Phillip Bashe bio on Rick Nelson. Some people criticized it for reporting on Mr. Nelson's promiscuity and drug use, but it wasn't a trash wallow. It was balanced.
Randy makes another list on Ranker. This time he’s 88th out of 303 “Greatest Jewish Singers and Songwriters.” :stunned: Just when I thought I knew just about everything about the Meis...

ETA: this is a great showing for Randy, lots of great talent on this list!
He's not Jewish though. His mom (and I assume his Dad) went to a Congregationalist church and was said to be a committed Christian.
Interesting though! You find the coolest things D!
I thought the same thing and maybe he had Jewish ancestors.
