It's grown on me - I don't hate it - I just don't LOVE it.
The reason I don't love it is largely the verses - I'm not really into the whole "talking" singing style and some of the lyrics don't do it for me. Like I said, though, I don't think it sucks or anything.

Well, you gotta love the name, right? After all...we're all out On The Border here!
Re: Celebration of "On the Border"
The song certainly has served us well in that regard! ;)
Why did I choose it even though I was never a big fan of the song? I wanted a locale for my board name and at the time, we were a rather marginalized group. Circumstances have changed, but yeah, I still like the name!

Henry Diltz has posted the photo he took for the inner-gatefold.

My copy of the album didn't have a gatefold or a poster insert. I feel cheated. :-(
Re: Celebration of "On the Border"
I imagine it's very rare (and expensive!) to find one of those albums with the double-sided poster still intact. Has anyone spotted any for sale on Ebay or elsewhere?
I took my OTB album out last night and found the "He who hesitates is lunch" inscription on side one. Cute!
Re: Celebration of "On the Border"
I saw a sealed one in a record shop in Austin, but I don't know if it had the poster inside. Supposedly the album was in pristine condition, though. I think it was $30.
Re: Celebration of "On the Border"
I'm buying a vinyl copy of On the Border from an online friend that I buy from on a monthly basis. I'm not holding my breath because I only paid $5, but he's been known to leave out the "details" of an album(poster gatefold etc). It would be cool, though.
I'm tempted to look for a copy of HC with the poster, but after seeing the photo of the poster in the cd booklet, I decided against it.
Re: Celebration of "On the Border"
Well, I got my copy i today, and unfortunately no poster.
Re: Celebration of "On the Border"
Sorry you didn't get the poster AG
