Cool!
Kiwi, On The Border tortilla chips are the only brand I buy! Aside from the image it conjurs of our favorite band, they're danged good.
On a slightly different note, I just finished reading a book called 'a soft place to land' by Susan Rebecca White. The main character, Ruthie, is talking about one of her English class, says they are reading the Odyssey, and goes on to say the teacher starts talking about 'siren songs'. As the discussion evolves the students ask the teacher to sing them a siren song. As Ruthie describes it....
"Mr. Roman stepped out from behind the podium where he had been lecturing, tucked his hands into the pockets of his chinos, fixed his gaze somewhere above the girls, and began singing in a clear, unwavering voice about a desperado who needed to come to his senses."I nearly fell off the chair laughing! But it was the LAST thing I expect to see in this book.
"He was singing something about the queen of diamonds, the queen of hearts."
"Mr. Ronan had (finally) reached the apex of the song, the repeated line, sung with gusto, demanding that the desperado accept love."
Went out to dinner with friends and the music system played Take It Easy. Sung by Jackson Browne. I thought it sounded like him, but I had to run it by Shazam to make sure!
I reminded myself of the Eagles yesterday. I was having a conversation about some not so pleasant stuff and I made a comment that "most of us are sad at times". Once I said it, it hit me where I had heard that before.
I have booked my flights to Oklahoma for May, and this time I have to go with a different airline (the cheapest!) so, instead of stopping in Dallas, I have to stop in Detroit both ways! I think you can guess which particular Eagle I thought of...
Ah, Detroit, where mother is half a word...
Anything that makes you think of Glenn is a good thing, lol.
I thought you were going to say that booking the trip made you think of Joe!
Well, yes - I suppose it does!
Driving to work I noticed the license plate in front of me had the letters GLF in the middle just as the opening strains of Take It Easy came on the radio. lol
