Seems to me you'd be better of at a Don Henley solo show! except Bernie wouldn't be there, of course.
At an Eagles show, I want to hear each of them sing lead vocals. I would be very disappointed if they sang your set list; but as you say it's your dream.
Re: Your thoughts on actual setlist structures
I've moved BRD's post and its replies to the "Dream Setlist" thread. It pertains more closely to that since there's "no particular order" to BRD's list, and thelastresort's question was about one's thoughts on the structure of the current setlist. Plus, eliminating all of Tim and Glenn's songs falls under the category of "pipe dream" which we reserve for the fantasy threads like this one.
If anyone needs more clarification about what the phrase "setlist structure" means or is simply interested in reading more about it, there's some webpages on composing setlist structure here and here.
If anyone needs more clarification about the difference between a "dream setlist" and an "actual setlist," then feel free to ask!
I know all these related threads can be confusing. I do my best to try to keep 'em in order. Hope this helps!
Re: What's your Eagles "Dream Setlist"?
It's a discussion board, so aren't any Dream Setlists up for discussion? I'll just add that BRD's list didn't include anything sung by Joe, either so it's an unusual choice.
When I saw the band, I was surprised at how different it was to listening to the records. I've never thought much of Those Shoes but in concert, it was a hightlight whereas some of the quieter songs that I usually love, dragged a little. It makes me realise that I couldn't put together a Dream Setlist on my own.
What I'd really like it to go back in time and hear the band play back in the 1970s when they played as a 4, 5 or even 6-piece. Probably the On the Border tour, though I'm tempted by The Long Run tour, too.
On the Border tour, a pretty up-tempo list but maybe not enough of Bernie's singing:
The setlist from the infamous Long Beach concert which I love for the inclusion of After the Thrill is Gone and King of Hollywood:
