Re: Glenn Mentions in the Press/in Blogs etc.
Here is an excerpt from an article about the five greatest shots in L.A. Lakers history where Glenn gets a mention:

Lakers have a history full of miracles
Derek Fisher's shot was great, but it wasn't the greatest.

4. Big Shot Bob's biggest.
I remember standing at my courtside media seat in stunned awe after Robert Horry made his buzzer-beating three-pointer in Game 4 against the Sacramento Kings in the 2002 conference championship.
The series had just been tied. The postseason had just been kept alive. Arguably a championship had just been won.
Horry incredibly hitting from the top of the key? After luckily catching a ball batted out by Vlade Divac? With the red light glowing around the basket?
Around me, Staples Center fans were hugging and screaming and crying.
In front of me, Horry had just stuck his hands behind his back and strutted downcourt in probably the most famous celebration dance in Lakers history.
Besides me, suddenly, there appeared Glenn Frey, one of the founding members of one of my favorite bands.
He slapped his hand on the press table.
"The Eagles never wrote a song this good!" he shouted.

High praise indeed! I'd have loved to see the 'energy and enthusiasm' in that comment.

Well, GA, Glenn's comment here may have been full of energy and enthusiam, but it is also full of crap. Glenn, you need to get a grip, buddy - there isn't one ounce of truth to this!
Re: Glenn Mentions in the Press/in Blogs etc.
Well naturally Dreamer, you are right, The Eagles did indeed write songs as good as this, I just meant I'd have have love to have seen Glenn  all fired up as he said it!
Re: Glenn Mentions in the Press/in Blogs etc.
Looks like Glenn gets a mention in a new biography of Bob Seger. Here's the write-up, from the Motown Writers Network (check out link for photos and order info - apparently the book will be available in October).
An excerpt:
"Weschler captures Seger's personality on stage and at home and reveals the colorful personalities of those people he worked and performed with, including Alice Cooper, Bruce Springsteen, Glenn Frey, and KISS."
Re: Glenn Mentions in the Press/in Blogs etc.
Maybe it's must me, but I wouldn't be bragging about my city being mentioned in a Glenn Frey song when that mention is talking about the fact that it's where smugglers hide and sell drugs....
From WanderWorlds:
Telluride, Colorado:
Telluride is notoriously known for its pop culture as it has been the backdrop for several tv commercials, home to an international film festival, and referred to in songs by Glenn Frey, Kate Wolf, Tim McGraw, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Josh Gracin, and in an essay by Edward Abbey.

When he's bad, Frey is extremely bad.
Huh!
When he's good he's very VERY good!:partytime::partytime::partytime:

I fail to see any point in that comment. Nothing like that was said about any of the other acts. I have rarely seen anything so gratuitous. Also, as far as I know he didn't sing the songs he wrote on those other soundtracks (I don't even know what the Girls Just Want To Have Fun song is).
Flip City is a great song, even if nobody has heard of it.
Anyway, he made another appearance on a soundtrack later, in the 90s. The film was Thelma And Louise. I think we all know what the song was.
