I have always thought the riff in Down Under may have been a subliminal copy of Kookaburra, not a straight 'rip off'. The whole thing left a very sour taste in the mouths of many Australians, because that song defines the country to so many people overseas.

We all loved 'Down Under' here and it would be quite a popular song on the 80's scene. It was one of those 'anthems' we grew up to! So sorry to hear that one of its creators has passed away.
