RIP David Cassidy
I'm sad to report that David Cassidy who played Keith Partridge on the Partridge Family has died. He was 67.
His publicist broke the news a few hours ago. Early this year, he announced to the world that he had dementia and he was retiring from touring. A few days ago his organ was shutting down and they thought he wouldn't make it.
Its sad that he died and I don't know if he ever beat his demons.
RIP David

So sorry to hear it. My older sister had such a crush on him! What a shame. RIP.

RIP. I got his single, "I Think I Love You" in a Christmas gift exchange in 6th grade. I played it over and over.

Re: RIP David Cassidy
My best friend, Sharon, was a huge fan of David Cassidy and so I absorbed the music and the myth by osmosis. I could sing along to any of his songs.
There's a book, "I think I love you" by Allison Pearson, that does a good job of explaining how it felt to grow up in south Wales in the 70s and having a crush on a pop star.
It's sad to hear of yet another star whose life didn't work out so well.

Re: RIP David Cassidy
That is so sad. :( He was one of my Mom's teen idols and I loved watching "The Partridge Family" repeats on TVLand when I was a kid in the 90s. I actually was a bit obsessed with it and "The Monkees" for awhile and since it was about music groups. LOL Feel so bad for his family and friends, especially his daughter Katie that is an actress on "Arrow" and the other DC Comics shows on The CW I watch.

Re: RIP David Cassidy
Very sad. Friend bought us a best of cd only a few years ago ... nearly all the tracks are consummate pop songs - really catchy. And he had such a distinctive voice. Here's one of my favourites: Could It Be Forever?

Playing it now and getting all choked up.

Re: RIP David Cassidy
Like Soda, I also have an older sister who was crazy about him. The Partridge Family was regular TV fare at our house. I remember seeing some sort of rockumentary awhile back where he expressed frustration at not being to rock out on the show.
Some Borderers may not be aware that he sang backing vocals on Randy’s first solo album. I wish it had been more successful not only for Randy’s sake but for David’s as well. It may have given him more exposure.
RIP David
