Re: Joe mentions in the press
I read a comment someone wrote (not here) that said that Joe had a stroke at some point. Do you know if that is true or just another rumor? If he was doing meth it may have caused him to have some kind of health problem that people thought was a stroke. If he did have a stroke, he certainly came out of it better than some people do.

I don't know if it's true or not but my gut feeling is that it's a rumor based on the way he sometimes slurs his words when he speaks.

I don't know much about medicine, but I don't think anyone who's suffered a stroke could play like he does. It takes a lot of intricate fingering and motor control. People sometimes make up those kind of things to explain characteristics like his odd speech patterns, but I think that's just the way he talks.

I've always just took it for a rumor too. He plays great and he doesn't have any facial features that show a stroke. Plus I don't think he could run around and jump up and down like he does if he had a stroke. For a guy his age he does cover a lot of the stage during Life's Been Good. His speech is just pure Joe.

AZEF...that performance by Joe on LBG reminds me why I admire him as a guitar player! Reminds me of that movie "Back To The Future" where "Jonhnie B Goode" was performed and Michael J Fox kicks over the amp. Joe really hashes out some Rock-n-roll in that song!
But it is like a lot of Joe's songs...they start out with a simple recognizable "hook" that just about anyone with a guitar can pick out....and then goes over the top with improv solo that just makes my jaw sort of drop down onto my chest!

Yucks = bucks: Peter Boyle memorial adds $700000 to myeloma fight
Got this on Google Alert. Wonder if Getty has any more pictures that include Joe.

According to Billboard, Joe is appearing on Ringo Starr's new album Y Not. I'm snipping the part about our Joe:

Sounds cool!

I also read where Jeff Lynne was at the cancer fundraiser...sure would be great if those ol' new cd rumors were coming true.
