Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Joe opened his live show with a surprise. The rarely performed, I Can Play That Rock'n'Roll. He wrote it with Waddy Wachtel, who is back in his backing band.
I presume that Joe performed Take It To The Limit as a tribute to Glenn, probably sharing the vocals with his backing singers. I hope it's the Meisner version with the big finish. Can't wait to hear it. :D

:yay: You go, Joe!
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I hope we get to hear that soon too. :D I don't think I've ever heard Joe sing "Take it to the Limit" before, and that's my favorite Eagles song.
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I went to the Joe Walsh/Bad Company concert last night in Dallas it was great!
And yes, Joe did dedicate Take It To The Limit to Glenn. It was very touching. He said he was still messed up about Glenn's passing. And that he thought they would grow old together.
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Awww, poor Joe. I'm glad he did the tribute and I'd have loved to hear him do TITTL.
But I wonder why that song? Surely there are other "Glenn" songs he could have done? When I think of TITTL, I think of Randy more.

I initially was surprised that Joe chose Take It To The Limit to honour Glenn but after a little thought it seems a completely apt choice. To the guys in the band, Glenn was the Eagle who kept raising the bar and pushing the boundaries. Glenn was always Taking It To The Limit, even when Randy was singing it.
Even if Randy turns up during the tour to sing Take It To the limit with Joe, it would still be a wonderful tribute to Glenn.

Thanks for posting that insight East Texas Girl. I hope Joe realizes that, he and Glenn did "grow old together"

I was a little surprised as well that Joe chose that song. It was really cool though, he had video showing old pics of Glenn and some of the other guys. Lots of memories.
You are probably right Funk50.

Another video had Lucy in there walking behind her dad.

I didn't really think it was that odd of a choice since Glenn started singing lead on that song in the Eagles' concerts from the late 90s on. And I agree about how the lyrics can fit him too in ways. I do like Glenn's version too and even on the original I always could hear Glenn's voice on it the strongest in the backing vocals and his piano playing. Wish the vid showed with pics/vids of Glenn was playing in the background.
