Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Here's a tremendous eulogy to Joe's, wonderfully laid back, piano blues track, Dreams, from The Smoker You Drink The Player You Get
I was lucky enough to discover Dreams during an endless summer in my youth. It's so evocative, I'm that kid again almost every time I hear it.

It's very well written. I wondered at first why he used the word eulogy though, which is funereal, but of course he's writing mostly of things gone by.
I had to wince a bit when he described seeing the Eagles at Wembley in '76 as if it was a necessary evil to seeing Joe. I mean really. Some people don't know they had it so good.
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I noticed that too, NMB. Odd word choice, but still a nice article.
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
This was a delight to read first thing in the morning. Joe's writing a memoir.... plus more about his up-coming tour.

I'll definitely be buying the book. I look forward to seeing the movie.
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I can't wait to read that book!
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Thanks for finding that, F50. Can't wait to hear more and give this topic a thread of its own. Like I said in another thread, I hope all the guys write books so we can compare all their different recollections of certain events. Wow - that would be quite an arduous undertaking, but I think we Borderers will be up to the challenge!
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Exciting news from Joe's camp. AND the bonus of the last two paragraphs of the article:
"Walsh is also celebrating 40 years with the Eagles this year, a time he said has flow by for him. The group recently came off the road from the latest leg of its History of the Eagles tour and he said that after two years of taking the show around the world, it's time for the band to do something different.
"We've played about everywhere with it and the decision is whether to just keep doing it and we wanted to take a break and get away from it," Walsh said. "We don't want to just play the hits. We have to reinvent a new set and a new show and we've got to take some time off before we start doing that."
Those words surely give a lot of us reason to hope!

Thanks, Ive always been a dreamer, after seeing how the music press have reacted to this story, I think it already deserves it's own topic. Not many hotel wreckers have the discipline and where-with-all to write a book.
Now Joe has publicised that he's writing a memoir, I think he'll be inundated with stories. Most of the Walsh stories and anecdotes I've heard have come from associates.
Re: Joe in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Have ya'll seen this video "Who shops at Norm's?" - Joe Walsh turns up around 1:54 and Timothy a wee bit later (they're not together)

Joe's voice is so recognizable, he must have to keep really quiet when he's out in public. I imagine people's heads just whip around when they hear that nasal drawl.

Also one of the musicians is wearing a James Gang tshirt.
