Oh, I like Bill Bailey, and he is multitalented. You get some good shows down your way, Fp.

I know this may have been covered in other threads, but I thought
I would start a fresh one. I'm new here, ya know, so forgive me if this
is a duplication.
Rick
I'll start it off with who I've seen just this year.
Van Halen
The reunion tour with David Lee Roth joining Eddie Van Halen,
Alex Van Halen and Wolfie Van Halen (Eddie's Son)
Journey/Cheap Trick
You've seen some pics of this
Heart
They were with Journey and Cheap Trick most of the time, but not
in Nashville, for some reason. But we caught them 2 days later in
Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon. The Wilson sisters can still rock!
Bruce Springsteen
Another Nashville show. His 3 hour concert was outstanding
The Eagles
What can I say? Another great 3 hour show!
Rick
Nickleback
There concert was loud
ZZ Top,Brooks and Dunn and Rodney Adkins Tour
Thay One ROCKED!!!!!!
Thats all:headbang:
PEACE
Well, obviousl the most important was Eagles on 20th March in London with MF, GEF and my daughter Laura (Timtot!). It has been reviewed extensively in the Concert Review thread.
June 14th, Neil Diamond in Croke Park Dublin which I believe I have covered elsewhere. Needless to say my heart was elsewhere that night
April 14th Laura and I won tickets to Hal Ketchum in concert in Dublin. There was a M&G also. He was very good, and a lovely man to meet. He told Laura all about his little daughter (Ruby) at the M&G. He was backed up by a very accomplished Irish country singer called Justin McGuirk. And excellent night! The camera Nazis were out though!!
I saw John Fogerty for the first time, Elton John for about the 10th time, and will be seeing Billy Joel for the fifth time in November.
The Eagles for the first time.
Guus Meeuwis (a Dutch singer) also for the first time.
The only act other than the Eagles that I've seen live in quite some time is Rascal Flatts. I'm not a huge fan, but I took my nieces to see them. I did go to the CMAs last November and saw quite a few acts perform, even though it really wasn't a concert. My sole reason for going was because the Eagles were performing 'How Long'. Actually, all of my 'concert' budget in recent years has been used to see the Eagles either together or solo. Given the current cost of Eagles tickets these days, I don't expect that this will change much in the foreseeable future.
I saw Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood this spring. They were both great, although I wouldn't have gone to see Carrie if she hadn't been the opener for Keith.
Last Saturday was the 4th Eagles concert for me. Once in the mid '70's (don't remember much from that! :eyebrow:) Again in 2002 and 2003.
I also saw Don Henley in 2004 and got to go to a meet & greet with him. That was wonderful!
Others in the past 6 years were:
Aerosmith
Kenny Chesney
Cheap Trick
Def Leppard
Tesla
Van Zant
Gretchen Wilson
I just saw this ROCKING concert the other day!! it was AMAZING! the band was Mrs. Reeds Kindergarten Class of 2008!! THEY ROCK!! when they did their rendition of itsy bitsy spider I WAS all "YEA MAN!!! WOOOO!!!!!" and head bangin' and stuff!! Ok.. so Im pathetic and havent been to a REAL concert since 2002 when I saw the guys at the Rose Garden. I DID have the opportunity to see Everclear Acoustic this weekend but passed it by and Im using the $$$ to buy myself a guitar so I can be my OWN concert (Or maybe accompany that awesome Mrs Reed band.. they rock!!!):headbang:
Ticky-I feel your pain-sometimes don't know whether to :hilarious: or :weep:-The life of a mother huh?
Usually a little of both Willie *G* thanks *G*
The last concert I went to was Morrissey at Wembley last year. It was fantastic.
I'm in need of a good live music fix though.
So far this year I have been to -
Boston (Only played for about 40 minutes to an hour...very disappointing)
Lonestar (They played a little bit of LITFL lol)
The American Idol Top 10 (David Cook was amazing!)
Bon Jovi/Daughtry (Fantastic! Became a big Richie Sambora fan!)
Eagles (First time! Not the last time if I can help it! Amazing!)
Will be seeing Reba/Kelly Clarkson October 23 and AC/DC in November
This year I have been to the festival which included the Eagles & John Fogerty. My 1st Eagles concert!
I am going to see Elton John (another one of my favourites) on Tuesday.
GL-enjoy Elton--Another GREAT legend!!!!
Hey fellow fans;
I've been waiting patiently for our favorite band to hit Europe again. When "Hell froze over"; I was there in Toronto to see the best band in the world get back into the groove.
Now I am living in Germany and have to hunt and scratch for any information about possible European (German) dates. They've been here twice in 14 years and I have seen them both times; but I can't get enough of them.
Can anyone give me any idea whatsoever if they are ever going to play Europe again? There are not just fans in North America; they pack the stadiums here every time to sold out concerts.
I would really appreciate any insight or help into this situation.
Thanks from across the pond
Ex-Canadian
(Ps: Yes I have checked the official AND unofficial Eagles sites and haven't been able to find anything :headshake: )
Welcome Ex-Canadian! Of course there are rumors floating that they will be heading overseas next year. They are now booking dates here in the US through January so who really knows!
Hope you join us often here--we always love to hear from other Eagles fans!
Welcome, Ex-Canadian!
I can't promise they'll get back to Europe - keep in mind they were just there a few months ago. Still, since they've spoken of this as a "world tour" that will last a couple years, it's very possible they'll find their way back over.
Thanks for all the info.
It appears that I have definitely found a forum where there are TRUE Eagles fans and not just run of the mill. And the "World Tour" that they were on was LAST year. I think it is time they jump on the jet again and get themselves over here to Germany again. :-) Okay; they may not be the youngest anymore:angel:; but they are the best.
Thanks for keeping me informed and I will definitely be here at the forum more often.
Welcome from me too, Ex-Canadian! Glad you found us!
Welcome from me, too, EC. This is a great bunch of Eagles lovers. Glad you found us!
Someone (I forget who it was... Possibly GL?) said that Don mentioned at a gig a couple of weeks ago that they're planning to come to Europe next summer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Hey Ex-Canadian *G* And welcome to The Border. I have been hearing rumors over at the Joe Walsh Fan Club web site that they will be doing the western US next year late (I'm really hoping for this as Im in Oregon) but there were also rumors that they would be heading to Europe and Oz then too so go figure..
Hi ExC! You are sooo Welcome! I too am hoping they make it back this side of the pond in 09. Last March when I saw them in London just seems so long ago now. I just hope I get the chance again, and soon!
Hope you have fun posting here. Who is your favourite?
Hey, once again thanx for all the info. It is nice to see that there are that many caring people out there.
As far as who my favorite is; I guess if I have to put my finger on one of them, then it would be Joe Walsh.
Don't get me wrong of course; Don, Glenn and Tim are great but it is Joes extraordinary voice that sort of makes him my favorite. Coming in 2nd would be Tim and then Don and Glenn come in third respectively. :-)
I guess you could say that I am an OLD fan (with my 44) but I still can't get used to the fact that Don Felder isn't with them anymore. Bums me out really.
The Eagles are still the Eagles; but without him there is a little "something" missing. Who knows; maybe "hell will freeze over" a second time and he would be part of the team again, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
Thanks for all the info and keep it up.
I wish you peace
Und für alle Deutsche Fans........hau rein. Es ist einfach klasse hier mit die Leute.
THREE DAYS UNTIL MEMPHIS! Just thought I'd throw that in.
Welcome, Ex-Canadian, from a current Canadian. You'll enjoy the Border. I know I do.
It was me who heard that Don said to fans, at his recent solo fund raiser in his home town, that they were planning to go back to Europe, so hopefully you will get to see them again. I saw them this summer in New Brunswick. My 1st time. (I pray it's not my last). That is the 1st time that they have been to my neck of the woods.
Billy Joel - Acer Arena, December 9 2008
http://www.billyjoelfan.com/Concerts...08/12-06.shtml
The set list for Brisbane listed here is what we had, minus Sometimes A Fantasy.
He puts on a fantastic show and I always enjoy seeing him. Overall I enjoyed this setlist more than the previous show I saw in 2006 which included songs from An Innocent Man, an album I don't like. I missed Goodnight Saigon, however, which is awesome. He told some very funny stories - after Billy The Kid we had a dissertation on the historical inaccuracies in the lyrics, for instance he wasn't from Wheeling, West Virginia, but Brooklyn, and you could hardly roam east & west of the Rio Grande, but north & south. He said 'and I am not from Oyster Bay. I'm from Hicksville'. Before Scenes From An Italian Restaurant he actually recommended a Neopolitan restaurant in Paddington, an inner Sydney suburb.
Highlights for me were Allentown, which is my favourite song by him, We Didn't Start The Fire (people who deride this as a 'list' miss the point), and a wonderful jazz club, Ray Charles infused New York State Of Mind (it made me realise how much I miss the place, as I have not been there since 1988.
There was one song I didn't know, Christmas In Fallujah, which is similar to LROOE in lyrical content, in which he played electric guitar. I thought it rocked, but it received a muted response. And the crowd singing of Piano Man wasn't nearly as enthusiastic as last time. Still, I had a good time.
I was torn between posting this here, or in "Good for a Laugh."
I needed to pull out my HS Senior Yearbook yesterday for the first time in AGES, because I had been recruited by some other moms to go in to school today and help layout pictures for the 4th grade yearbook. (I had been one of the editors in HS, and I have to say we did an excellent job back then!)
I stumbled across the concert program and ticket from my very first concert right after graduation, a few days before I became legal in 1979. One of my girlfriend's dads dropped a few of us off at Giants Stadium at noon to see Boston, Poco, Todd Rundgren and Utopia, and the Outlaws--so it must have lasted until 8 pm or later. The price of the ticket???? A mere $12.50!! :woah::woah: I had to get out my reading glasses to be sure, but that was it! Granted, we were in nosebleed seats, but we were young and thrilled and didn't have a care in the world back then-- unbelievable! :grooving:
Poco hey? To badf it was after Randy and Timothy had already left! Love Boston and Todd Rundgren. That was a pretty good concert I bet-especially for $12.50! WOW!
I haven't been on this thread in awhile. Sounds like the Billy Joel concert was really good, FP. He is someone I definitely hope to see in the near future. He is coming to Atlanta but it is a double bill with Elton John, and I saw Elton 2 years ago so I was really hoping to catch Billy solo.
$12.50?!?! Wow, EV--those were the days!
EV, the fact that you had to put on your reading glasses to see the $12.50 puts everything into perspective, doesn't it! Things were much cheaper all those years ago when we didn't need reading glasses!
DF, if you get a chance to see Elton and Billy together, don't miss it. I saw them together several years ago and it was one of the most awesome shows I have ever witnessed. They sing each other's songs... Elton sings Uptown Girl, they duet on Piano Man & Your Song (I can't remember which Elton song Billy sang)! I am hoping they will bring this back here again because they both come here so often.

We saw Billy and Elton a few years ago in Madison Square Garden, and it was tremendous! I had already seen Billy a number of times before, but never Elton. They each played one solo set, and then they played a long set together. We sat in the few rows behind the circular stage featuring the 2 pianos, and it was amazing because they often played to the back--so we very often had the best seats in the house (unexpectedly.) I have to say, that was one of the greatest concerts I have ever been to.
On the other hand, since Billy Joel is one of my favorite artists, his solo concerts also rank among the top. We saw him once on New Year's Eve in his native Long Island, and it was one of the best ways to ring in the New Year ever! His catalogue of songs has so many that I enjoy, and each of the concerts I've seen of his has varied nicely.
O
Along with being a HUGE fan of the Eagles, i'm also a big fan of stand up comedy. Bill Engvall is my favorite comedian. He is hilarious. I've been to several of his concerts and have gotten to meet him a few times. He's such a sweet heart in person and I could tell right off that he really appreciates his fans. His material is very family friendly and doesn't do anything vulgar. I like the clean comedy but i also enjoy a bit of the blue stuff. Dane Cook is another favorite comedian of mine. Although his material is completely different from Bill's, I still find him to be just as hilarious. I may have the chance to see Dane in concert while i'm Florida. He's gonna be at the same arena in Tampa as the Eagles but only 2 nights later. I hope i get to see Dane in concert. It would complete my Florida trip to not only get to see my family and the Eagles but to also get to see a great comedy show.
I'm with ya PB-LOVE comedy and have seen several comedians. My faves are Carrot Top (I cried thru the whole show from laughing so hard). You have to really pay attention to him because he throws them out so fast! Besides, who can look at the man without laughing before he even opens his mouth? LOVE HIM!!!! I also liked Steven Wright, but you really have to like dry humor to enjoy him. We were also lucky to have been able to see George Carlin about 20 years ago (the night after we were married in fact). He was great-if you like sarcasm, which I hate to admit, I do.
Laughter is the best medicine. Besides listening to the Eagles or watching their dvds, listening/watching comedy is the next best thing for me whenever i'm feeling down.
Carrot Top is pretty funny. I've only seen a little bit of his stuff on tv. I think he'd be a great to see live. Ron White is coming to the casino that I work at. I hope i'll get to see him when he comes here.
