Re: New album "After Hours" press and discussion
A nice review from the UK...
"The pace is gentle and graceful, and there is a smokey, jazzy vibe throughout. Frey’s versions are faithful and reverential; these are not really songs you can experiment with."
"Glenn Frey is clearly an artist with a passion for this kind of music and his passion certainly shines through."

Glenn is more outspoken than usual. :ack: However, the article does say this::yay:

Frey has just recorded his first solo album for 20 years, After Hours, which is a collection of classic love songs. He is now trying to plan some solo shows in the London, admitting it would be a dream to play the Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra.
There's hope yet that he will cross the pond for concerts!

My keyboad is broken so I can barely type but I hope that happens. I would not be able to go though. TheEvening Standard is a trashy paper and they probably ask eveyone about these endless talent shows.
Re: New album "After Hours" press and discussion
OK, so Twitter kind of exploded in the last 48 hours where Glenn is concerned. First there was the first day of summer and then the sweltering heat. There were still tweets about the video (TSOYS). Then of course, the Miami Heat won the NBA championship last night and THIO seems to be the official song. I have to wonder what Laker-fan Glenn thinks of that. It's probably a good thing he's in London.
After sifting through all the tweets, here are the relevant ones.

This one is really irrelevant but it made me laugh. Posted during the Heat/Thunder game last night:

Lucky Glenn in London.
Trivia:I know he's a Lakers fan but in the Livin' Right video he wears a Heat top at one point.
The first tweet sounds like he did a private show. I am still wondering what the story was with those two public shows that 'fell through'.

I did a small search, I can't find anything on the show. I also found a tweet where he did an interview with a freelance journalist, but her name doesn't come up in any searches for any articles...with him or anyone else. Hmm. I'll look more tomorrow.

OK, this is a link to another forum named soundopinions. The first post you'll see is dated today, posted this morning, and doesn't say where the info comes from, but it's a site that seems to know what they're talking about. Other than saying Michael Thompson and Richard Davis had never heard of After Hours before Glenn mentioned recording it for the CD (really?), the rest of what's posted seems interesting.

Another tweet tonight, Michael Armstrong? He won an American Idol heat but since he's from the UK, couldn't go into the contest.
