Re: Today in Eagles History
At the risk of repeating myself. I remember exactly when I first saw HFO. We had 2 very young kids at the time and real life had gotten in the way abit of my Eagles obsession from my teen years. We were home one evening just watching tv after kids were in bed and hubby was flipping channels and on PBS they were playing HFO. I sat straight up off the couch and screamed for him to stop flipping channels and we watched it. I remember how excited I was to see them together again and on stage. I also vividly remember my reaction when I saw Tim again in that vest and long white shirt and skinny jeans, hair so long and straight . Larry really enjoyed it also, he knew how much I loved the Eagles but I'm pretty sure that he now despises the night he ran across that PBS channel and HFO. :hilarious: Within 2 days I was at Best Buy buying the VHS and CD and later the DVD.
Re: Today in Eagles History
Well I noticed that earlier today, there was an entry on the calendar commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the Eagles very first appearance ever on any type of awards show - the CMAs. It was a special day both in the bands history and for me personally because Soda, DonFan, and I were all there to see live! We had a great time at the show, especially when we could see the band on stage setting up before they actually performed. If anyone is interested in reading more, here is the thread about it ...

Re: Today in Eagles History
AH, what a great night that was, gazing down upon the Eagles from on high! ;)
Can't believe it's been two years!
Re: Today in Eagles History
I guess they must not be going this year as we haven't heard anything. It's on the 11th this year, I think. :-(
Re: Today in Eagles History
I remember watching this. First time I ever watched CMA's.
Re: Today in Eagles History
While doing Today in Rock, I found this...
1999-The Recording Association of America names the Eagles to it's list of Artists Of The Century. It also announced that their album, Greatest Hits 1971-1975 had sold 26 million copies making it the top selling album of the 20th century.
Re: Today in Eagles History
Yep - what a remarkable accomplishment for a remarkable band!!!
Congratulations Eagles as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of this momentous event.

Congrats to our guys! If it weren't for Jackson's death a few months ago, they'd still hold that title.

Yeah, but as soon as they kill Walsh off they'll be back on top! :hilarious:
