Done! Keep climbing Randy!!
Voted :)
Thank ya! It takes a village
Done ! So happy for Randy and so nice to see him out and about. Also agree with you about his wife, may she RIP.
Hooray! Timothy is at #27, which is a not bad considering the sterling company he's in.
Randy is at #2! http://www.ranker.com/list/best-rock...acebook.com%2F
Just seen this now - got my vote in for Randy!
Aside from the most obvious highlights of Randy's bass playing in the Eagles (Outlaw Man, One Of These Nights, Life In The Fast Lane), I have to say I really like his playing on the On The Border album in particular. One part I especially enjoy is the bass at the end of the guitar solo in the middle of James Dean. I can't claim to have any expertise in assessing bass playing, but I think that's a cool part.
JCL, I agree! I love his bass playing on Witchy Woman and Too Many Hands, as well as the live version of Tryin. But his bass lines on the OTB album really stand out to me--Already Gone, You Never Cry Like a Lover, and Best of My Love especially.
He did some great bass work with Rick Nelson too, although I realize most people probably don't think "70s rock" when they think of the Stone Canyon Band. Still, anyone who's curious should check out "If You Gotta Go, Go Now."
Maybe we should start a new thread or poll--favorite Randy basslines.
Randy is #1! Man, I didn't think anyone could get Entwistle out of first place - he was entrenched. But now Meis is king. Yeah!

Yay, Randy!! :yay:
Now time to get him ranked higher in the "all-time best bass player" list; he's about #134, I think.
