Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I've been doing some writing...short stories and that sort of thing. The problem that I have is my characters all seem to end up with dialog that sounds like an Eagles Concert playlist......i.e.:
"I'm sorry about that, Barbara. I can't tell you why it happened."
"This new job is really interesting but I feel like I've gone from standing in one place to living life in the fast lane."
"You know, there's something sad about all the changes that have taken place since that new manager came on board."
I'M OBSESSED AND I KEEP GOING BACK AND REWRITING THE DIALOGUE WHEN I'M DOING THE EDITS -- FOR OBVIOUS REASONS! (Maybe I should turn off the stereo while I'm writing!?!)
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
LOL Cynd,.. go read The Long Story from the beginning.. I think you'll relate *G*
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
LOL Cynd! Nah. Some people struggle for that kind of inspiration! ;)
Rhonda - no better way to spend a lazy afternoon!
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
That is too funny, Cyndi. I guess I'm supposed to be feeling bad for you, but instead, I'm just :jealous: !!!
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Sometimes I feel cursed...it's tough to have a creative mind and find yourself constantly slipping into "Eagles" mode! I just can't help myself but I've got to tell you that I've had some good laughs all by myself when I go back and read what my characters are saying. It's so automatic sometimes that when I start doing my edits I end up laughing at myself until the tears start to roll!!!!!!!! And my roommate thinks I've absolute lost my mind when that happens. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "writers block"....:brickwall:
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Cind, that is funny! I wish I were so creative!
Fp, I saw a similar picture of Bob and thought the same. Oh my!

Yeah, but that's the kind of writers block I wouldn't mind having. ;-)
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Although I did have my laptop with me on vacation, little did I realize that we would rarely stay in an establishment that had WiFi access (who knew that Yellowstone was trying to stay 'au naturel'?) Anyway, on the day that we were driving through South Dakota (from Mount Rushmore) towards Colorado, out of the blue my husband wanted to bring up Eagles Online Central. It must have dawned on him that I was going through withdrawal, not being able to stay up till all hours of the night on my computer! I realized I must never have called it "The Border" around him, because he referred to our group :grouphug: as "the Eagles have landed"--as in, "I bet you can't wait to get back and tell 'the Eagles have landed' all about the trip, can you?" :hilarious: That was the day I thought about Maleah (SD) and anne-o-gg (CO.)
I hope that reference is not lost on the young-uns here...Neil Armstrong told Mission Control in Houston that "The Eagle has landed" when Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969.
And BTW, I am planning to tell you all about our great trip as soon as I get my pix onto the computer, so that I can illustrate as I describe!
ETA: I just realized that this might better be about the little things that remind me of other Borderers, but I can remedy that. The largest mountain peak in Yellowstone is Eagle Mountain, OK?
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Too funny, Ev!
Yesterday my husband and I were shopping in a local Lowe's store and What Do I Do With My Heart came on the piped in music. I stopped right there in the midst of the treated lumber and told him to listen, it's the Eagles! He looked at me and rolled his eyes and continued his search for 12 foot 2 x 12's! I stood right there till it was over.

We have had an extremely busy week and I gave up cooking last night so we went to Hacienda Mexican Restaurant for dinner. As soon as I sat down to the table I spotted this.

I pulled out my camera, positioned the little standy thing for it's pretty little picture, all the while my hubby and daughter are staring at me like I have lost my mind. Finally I was asked why I took a picture of it--had to explain we have a thread on the Border, and hubby immediately asks if it had something to do with the Eagles. DUH! They both just shook their head at me. :hilarious:
