I get what Dreamer & Maleah are saying on principle - grey is not for everyone, and it often makes people look older - but some guys are lucky. They seem to come off as sexy and distinguished with naturally grey hair. Don is one of them. It's the rugged thing. The longer hair, the stubble... for me, it just works. (And if he was in jeans, too... :thud:)

I have to agree that the grey hair really suits Don! I do prefer it to his colored hair look! The grey looks more natural, and maybe that's because it is!:thumbsup:

I understand keeping the rock star edge but he can do that without trying to keep his hair from going gray. I prefer to stay natural personally, so naturally I prefer natural on anyone else. :)

Belated congrats on your borderversary, Troub! I can't believe that so many of you actually joined after I did (a year ago in July)! It seems like you have been here all along :). Thanks for all your posts Troub. You are indeed a valuable member of the board & are one of the main reasons the Border has me addicted. A certain Mr. Frey also has something to do with it, but that's beside the point ;).

Seeing him like this in person was beyond words. In this era for the Eagles, this is nearly perfection to me. Imo, it's one of the most HS&G moments Don has had on this tour.

That's the thing. If he's going to color it, why doesn't he do it dark brown like it used to be? They can even do "reverse" coloring, where they add gray to dark hair.

And no matter what he does to it, I'll still love him all the same. Well, unless he goes blond like Glenn did back in the 80's! :wink:

I missed the chance to post about this on tuesday Sept. 29 but it was that day 4 years ago that I first got to see Don and meet him in person. He gave a lecture about Caddo Lake and the Caddo Lake Institute at UNT in Denton, TX. It was one of the most incredible days ever. It was just amazing to see the man in the flesh. There was no singing but I was still very much mesmerized by his voice. I do wish that I would've been more prepared to meet him but that was a wonderful opportunity nonetheless. I didn't say much because I was so star struck but I at least managed to get an autograph and a picture. It was also the least amount of money that i've ever spent to see him. My ticket cost a total of $5. Imagine paying that price to see the Eagles (or even Don solo) in concert. I also got to meet DonFan at this event for the first time.

That truly was a wonderful day, Peek! I am still amazed by the fact that the stars aligned in such a way so that an Alabama journalist was lucky enough to receive a press assignment to travel to Texas on the day before Don was scheduled to give that lecture.
It is fabulous to see Don perform but it was very special to be able to meet and talk to him in that kind of setting. I'll never forget it.

The website you asked about in the Joe thread just takes quotes from interviews other magazines do and republishes them with enough material around them to make it fair use! lol The Joe one integrates Rolling Stone and the Stevie one integrates her interview with The Telegraph. They may seem new because of the different context but they're just retreads. Derivative but legit.

Peekaboo! I thought I'd let you know that the small picture of Don is from the David Letterman Show. If you go to Youtube and type in Don Henley on late show 1995 you can watch him sing "You Don't Know Me At All". I love this video and watch it about every day. Hope you find it and enjoy.

It takes a while! lol. Plus, it doesn't work for a lot of photos. Many end up looking literally smudged or distorted. This one was so good, I had to give it a go though. I think I was lucky with the very light balance of the shot - it helped to conceal the touching up I did!

And yeah... I hope gettyimages ain't the suing kind. :nervous:

Oh yeah. Jess posted this earlier on Facebook (hope you don't mind me sharing it here!) It's Don from WinStar, where we saw him last May. I'd forgotten about it because it's not on my camera! I think it's gorgeous. We totally swooned when he came out in jeans and that short-sleeved black shirt. :smitten:

OMG, be still, my beating heart! :) I added the first one to my desktop folder. He was quite handsome back then but we were all so young(speaking for myself, I'm the same age Don is:-()but the pix preserve them forever youthful.
